I Need my Reward for MY Things

I need to recant my position of not using the internet for banking. I have signed up and can now have access to 7 years worth of bank statements, and be able to find out my balance for myself rather than by telephone. I said I could not or would not do things a lot, but I need to explain. I don't have internet access other than at the library. I have learned a lot doing the THINGS but I also get frustrated about having to sign up for so many sites and having to keep track of the passwords etc.. I do have a face book account now that I have accepted friends in and I have looked in my daughter's face book page to view my x's wedding pictures.
Anyway I am using things and getting more open minded about doing so.

Sounds interesting. I think the paper method is a very good backup plan. I know that paper is going to become extinct. I also would not have a need to use any of these plans because I do not own a computer or even a DVD. I can not afford the internet, cable TV,or a service that would connect me to all the electrical mumbo-jumbo in the world.

Once again the computer hates me. I would have to down load something (turn off the computer) which would cause me to not be able to work on this particular computer as effectively(?)as I have been currently because the security is off now and I don't know how to turn it on again if I log off.

I tried to listen to three or four radio stations but this computer does not like me. (Yes I do take it personally). Also I do not ever listen to the radio. This is not useful only frustrating.

I liked the, "What Do I Read Next?", site. "Silly Books", was fun. I think that "Silly Books", would be a good site to put on the library blog site for the kids. I am interested in looking at this thing further and I think it would be useful for patrons that come in and say, "I don't know what I want to read.".

My Twitter page says I like purple and pink. Otherwise it does not say anything at all except I was compliant about signing up for twitter even though I did not have a use for twitter. I still agree with all the degrading remarks made about twitter so the stage that I am at with twitter is rebellion!! I think twitter is trivial bar/party like communication, and I don't do either because I am boring.

I don't use RRS feeds. Don't have time to read them if I used them. I thought I set up a feed on thing three and I did set up tags on my blog for thing 11. I don't have bookmarks to organize and so this thing is not useful to me. If I had my own computer I would be able to have bookmarks. A lot of the things require equipment I do not have. If I had my own computer and it was hooked to the internet I would NOT be using this computer during my day off to do morethings. However I need to use time wisely if I want to get these things done before the deadline arrives. I do think I should be expelled since I love doing this so much.

I took the tour of Library thing. I suggested to the head librarian that this could be a tool where we could list special collection of books owned by this library like Sherlock Holmes, Young Adult, Cartoons, etc.. I would like to be able to find books that interest me by using this Thing. I liked the idea of sharing book revues.

This thing requires access to computer preferably in home. I use a calendar that I carry with me at all times. The computer would have to be small enough for me to put in my pocket and cordless. I am not aware of any such thing and would not use it anyway. Too much info for one who does not have a computer except at the library.

Wikis were fun. I like the idea of a lot of people being able to communicate on the same page and think it would be good for people who are not living close to each other. I liked the site that did book reviews. It would help one to know which books are good.

I sent a video to a fellow member of 23 things on a stick. I also watched a video about a teacher being spied upon. She got in doo-doo. I don't think I would use this tool in the library other than to refer people who want news over the net. It was interesting to watch TV on the web.

I learned about instant messaging. This will be neat when someone goes on vacation and doesn't want to use the phone. Text messaging was something I could not do-I have no cell phone. I use e-mail only so I can get other accounts (like this one). The old fashioned way of conference calling using telephone I have experienced. We participated in a web conference regarding audio books. We could ask questions. Some of these things just are not useful to me. I only have access to the computer during library time when I am supposed to be doing library work.

This task makes the assumption that one has a picture collection or is capable of downloading pictures from the web/ and or has a digital camera. I have none of the above. I borrowed the camera for the thing 4. I also did not know how to use the camera. I guess I will stumble along to thing 6. Sorry-I do not see how this is useful.

I created a blog and an avatar. I have a lot of trouble getting things to work for me the first time. The avatar has a dog but I would like it to be a chow instead, and I would like the person to have short hair but I feel that accomplishing the task itself was challenging enough. I truthfully have no idea how this blog thing would be useful in the library.
